SLO Chamber supports statewide childcare funding
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, childcare affordability and accessibility were already reaching crisis levels with some families paying more on childcare than on housing, if they could find a space at all. In a 2019 survey of more than 300 parents, more than 15% of respondents shared that they had regretfully taken themselves out of the workforce because childcare was not available.

SLO Chamber support of the Cal Poly Master Plan
The additional on-campus housing as described in the Master Plan will provide more options to both the on-and off-campus communities. The Chamber supports this type of expansion of a variety of housing types as it will provide more options to residents and contribute to relieving the existing pressures on the local housing market, often recognized as one of the least affordable places in the nation.
