SLO County leaders strike landmark deal to pump millions of dollars into affordable housing
SLO County Supervisors voted to pass a minimum of $2million to fund affordable housing in the region. The proposal was put together by the Coalition of Housing Partners, a broad-based group with diverse interests that includes the SLO Chamber and seven other community stakeholders, at the behest of Board of Supervisors Chairman John Peschong and Supervisor Bruce Gibson.

Central Coast business leaders launch initiative to boost jobs, attract new employers
With Diablo Canyon’s closure impending, local business and civic leaders felt the need to unite to launch a new group – The Hourglass Project. The SLO Chamber joins this historic partnership bringing 13 area chambers together under the new banner of the Central Coast Coalition of Chambers, which will work with government, business and education leaders on invigorating the regional economy.

We’re not as divided as it seems, survey shows
The San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce commissioned a survey in September to find out where voters believe the city government is headed. Overall, the results showed that voters believe the city is headed in the right direction and that their top priorities align with those of the Chamber.
